Who are we?
The International Art Education Center (the Center) is a non-profit organization. The purpose of its establishment is for cultural exchange between the United States and China and for promoting performing art education such as international folk dance, sport acrobatic, etc. The founder and current president, Nancy Liu, is a well-known professional dancer by receiving the first award in a nation wide professional dancing competition in 1980 and other awards during the 1980s. She is also a famous sport acrobatic coach. Her pupils were selected to represent china in many international sport acrobatic competition and won many gold medals in the early 90’s.

interview after her acrobatic show at San Diego in at an international sport acrobatic competition in 1990.

What have been done by the Center?
1. Culture Exchange Programs
The center has been registered in California as a non-profit organization in 2003. Right after its establishment, the Center conducted or sponsored many cultural exchange programs. In the past five years, the Center conducted four performing art seminars in USC, Soka University, Walnut Sr. Center and Cal State LA. The famous Chinese Dancer, Wang Yu-Lang had been invited to the States to interpret and demo Chinese folk dances.

2. Charitable activities
Since International Art Education Center is a public own non-profit organization, we sponsor many charitable activities. In most cases, our members are volunteers to perform in charitable fund raising activities. The Center’s great contribution to our community has been recognized by the City of Walnut and organizations famous in local area such as Chinese American Association of Walnut, Chinese American parents Association and Walnut’s Sister City Association etc.

3. Community Services
a. Dance Classes
Currently, the Center has a Senior dance class in Well and Fit Adult day care center every Wednesday and Friday and has an adult folk dance class in Walnut’s Sr. Center every Saturday. The total number of class attendance is about 80 persons. The Center only charges a very miniscule fee to pay necessary expenses. Most services are provided by the Center for free.

b. Co-sponsor other non-profit organization
International Art Education Center fully support Chinese American Association of Walnut to co-sponsor major events hosted by CAAW such as its annual fund raising party, moon festival etc. It also provided dancing programs to support Chinese American Parents Association in its event such as the appreciation party.

c. Participation of Community Activities
As a public own non-profit organization, the center has been invited to participate community activities such as Walnut’s family festival parade, Southern California Folk Dance Annual Festival and Walnut’s summer outdoor concert.
